GCSE Drama

This popular course has both written and practical assessments. All students undertake three practical projects. Options include: Devised Thematic Work Theatre in Education Scripted Performance Dance Drama Lighting Design Stage Design Costume Design The Written examination is based on the study of a set play and a response to live theatre. The department organises a number of theatre trips over the two year course both locally and in the West End. Recently students have had the opportunity to see productions such as The Woman in Black, Jane Eyre and Stones in his Pockets. In the spring term all students from years 10 to 13 get the chance to be involved in a major senior school production both on stage and behind the scenes. Recent productions include Macbeth, Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady and Les Miserables. This year's production, We Will Rock You will be performed next March.
