Our Strengths

A Level Drama and Theatre Studies is a well-established course that is accepted by every university in the country, including Oxford and Cambridge. Drama has a very strong tradition at BMS - our facilities are outstanding and our standards are very high.

Excellent examination results

Regular theatre trips

We run regular theatre trips to all sorts of shows in London and at local theatres. Examples of shows we've seen this term are 'God of Hell', 'Jane Eyre', 'The Woman In Black' and DV8 at the National Theatre

Workshops

In 2006 our A Level candidates gained 4 A grades, 7 B grades and 3 C grades. Our AS candidates gained 7 A grades, 4 B grades and 6 C grades. In 2006 100% of our GCSE Students gained A* to B grades, with an outstanding 97% receiving A* or A grades.

Exciting opportunities

We like all our students to participate in workshops run by professional actors or directors. We regularly attend the Stanislavski and Brecht workshops at Milton Keynes Theatre and also invite professionals into school to run them on site.

As well as the practical work undertaken in lessons, we offer all our students opportunities to get involved in a wide range of extra-curricular activities. These range from full scale productions like Les Miserables' and 'Our Country's Good', to songs and sketches in the Cabaret Evening, or writing and directing a House Drama entry. We aim for very high standards in all performances.
