Year 9

This course aims to build on the practical dramatic skills and concepts introduced in Years 7 and 8. Students will continue to work on improvised and devised drama, as well as developing their use of masks, mime and dance drama. A written component will be introduced and students will focus on two areas of study: Response to Live Theatre - following a theatre trip, students will produce a piece of writing analysing acting performances and design elements that were particularly impressive. Set Text - students will study a play script from the perspective of the director/actor. They will complete two pieces of written work. Assessments and tracking will be based on both practical and written assignments.
